It is very bittersweet that we announce the retirement of President Tom Young, marking the end of an era for our family-founded and operated company. Tom, who has been an integral part of R.M. Young since 1991, officially stepped down as President on April 1, 2025. He is succeeded by Eric Mannix, President and CFO.
Tom has been with R.M. Young Company since 1991. He started as Vice President of Marketing, using his expertise to help us expand globally. When his father, Bob Young—our founder—retired, Tom stepped into the role of President and continued to lead with integrity, innovation, and a strong focus on people. He helped shape a culture that values not just engineering excellence, but also meaningful work and a sense of purpose among our team.
Under his leadership, we’ve grown, evolved, and remained a trusted name in meteorological instrumentation. Tom’s impact on our company and our industry is hard to sum up in just a few words.
As Tom shared:

I am proud of the contributions we have made to the meteorological industry and of the excellent reputation we have earned among our customers during our first 60 years. As I move to the next chapter in my life, I am pleased to hand the reigns to Eric Mannix. Eric brings strong strategic and management skills and shares the cultural values that make Young a great company. I am confident that he will guide the company to even greater success in the coming years.”
We’re excited to move forward under the leadership of Eric Mannix, who now serves as both President and CFO. Eric joined us as CFO in October 2024 and has already made a strong impression on our team. Prior to joining R.M. Young, he served as CEO of Bluewater Thermal Solutions and brings with him a wealth of leadership experience in operational excellence and strategic growth.
Eric shared this message as he steps into his new role:
