200mm Collector TE Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge

The TR-525-W2 is a rugged, research-grade tipping bucket rain gauge with a WMO-standard 200 mm collector, specifically designed to meet National Weather Service and World Meteorological Organization requirements for rainfall measurement.

How It Works:

Rain enters the knife-edge collector and is funneled into a precision tipping bucket. When the bucket fills, it tips, triggering a momentary switch closure that records each increment of rainfall. The bucket empties automatically with every tip, and water drains out of the gauge, so there’s nothing to empty or maintain between readings.

Built to Your Specifications:

Every TR-525-W2 can be configured for your site and application. An R.M. Young representative will walk you through each option to make sure your gauge is built exactly the way you need it.

Configuration Options:

• Tip rate: 0.1 mm, 0.2 mm, or 0.01 in per tip
• Pivots: Brass or sapphire jewel
• Reed switch: Single or dual
• Heater: Optional, for operation through snow and freezing rain
• Siphon: Optional, for accuracy in heavy rainfall up to 508 mm per hour

Output Options:

• Standard: Reed switch pulse output with a 10 ft cable
• 4–20 mA output
• Internal pendant logger
• External pendant logger
• USB pendant logger: Logger with USB cable
• No cable: Bare terminal block

Mounting Options:

• Standard: Mounting feet, no pole base
• MB-525 pole base: 1.00" NPT
